EALINGWork Gijonport consolidates in 2025 a key stage within the Port of Gijón’s commitment to port electrification and the energy transition. Promoted by the Port Authority of Gijón and funded by the European Union under the Connecting Europe Facility, the project aims to prepare the implementation of a shore-side electricity supply system for ships at La Osa.

The project runs from 1 October 2024 to 31 December 2027, with an eligible investment of €8,587,466 and maximum EU funding of €2,610,239.80. Beyond its physical scope, the project represents a strategic decision regarding the type of port model to be consolidated in the coming years, linking sustainability, operational efficiency, environmental quality, and adaptability capacity.
